Folk to Folk

I teach  an instrumental adult folk group, ‘Folk to Folk’, supported by the W.E.A running now for 7 years, playing for local performances and dances.

The community folk band plays a repertoire of music ranging from local Winder tune books played for ceilidh dances in 1800’s to Breton airs, Swedish polskas, and Eastern European music. Over the last seven years the group has drawn appreciative audiences and played for dances locally and at  Folk Festivals and events.

The weekly session covers playing and arranging folk tunes, style techniques, and playing for dance. It is aimed at intermediate level on any acoustic instrument.
